Mangaluru, Aug 9: The inaugural programme of free tailoring class was held on August 5, 2021 at Gram Panchayat Sabha Bhavan in Chelairu of Mangaluru Taluk. 32 women have registered for the tailoring course of one month’s duration.

Asha Rodrigues, SHG member welcomed the gathering. Thereafter, Lenet Gonsalves, program manager, enlightened the participants about the agency, - CEI Italy that is collaborating with CODP to conduct tailoring classes at various centres under NRM project. She encouraged the students to accept the challenges of life in order to have a successful career. She also spoke about the importance of the training and how women could improve their skills. She wished them success for their future.

Hitha, the tailoring instructor, explained in brief regarding the method of making cloth bags viz the requirements, dimensions and how to go about it.

Moly Furtado, Jyothi Daya SHG member shared her experience to the participants as a tailor.

Pushpaveni and Shilpa DSouza from CODP assisted in making prior necessary arrangements. Rekha, panchayath member proposed the vote of thanks.
