Udupi: Cash, valuables stolen from grocery shop, complaint filed

Udupi, Aug 5: A complaint is filed at Malpe police station here in which the complainant Sameer Manna, resident of Gujjarabettu, Padutonse village has accused of cash and valuables stolen from his grocery shop on the night of August 3.

The complainant has been running Best Department stores near the cemetery of Gujjarabettu for two months. He and his elder brother had closed the shop as usual at 8.15 pm on August 3 and went home. When they arrived on the morning of August 4, they found that the locks of the shop were broken and shutters damaged.

When the duo checked inside the shop, cash of Rs 8,000, One Dell laptop worth Rs 22,000, one Apple airpod worth Rs 12,000, one power bank worth Rs 850, one Samsung brand mobile worth Rs 6,000 were missing. The total value of the stolen goods is Rs 48,850.

A case in this regard under column 457, 380 of IPC is registered at Malpe police station.
