Mangaluru: More Nandini brand milk to customers for same price

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, May 31: Dakshina Kannada District Milk Producers Union will provide 20 ml additional milk to its consumers per each half litre sachet of milk, without enhancing the prices. This is being undertaken as an initiative to benefit the customers without causing any loss to dairy farmers.

On account of lockdown, there has been huge reduction in milk consumption as demand for milk for auspicious functions, temples, hotels etc has come down drastically because of restrictions in place. There is surplus milk with the milk union. It has planned to pass on the benefit of the remaining milk to its consumers. This proposal got the support of most of the directors of the district milk union.

Out of about 5.6 lac litres of milk the union collects every day, about 1.5 lac litres remain unsold, said president of the union, Raviraj Hegde. He said that about 12,000 litres of milk will be used to provide additional milk to the consumers. This is a temporary measure and will be a financial burden for the milk union and the milk union has been gearing itself to handle the current situation.

Raviraj Hegde said that he is pleading with the milk producers to utilise milk in abundance at their homes. He said that if the critical situation persists, discussion may have to be held about the prospects of revising milk prices. At the state level, a proposal of milk holiday (one day holiday in a week for milk collection) is also being discussed, he said, duly revealing that such a proposal is currently not before his milk union.

Instead of few drops additional milk and fooling people, better reduce the price by 5 rupee per litre and you can see the reduced price effect which will boost the sale atleast by 25-35 percent. There won't be any extra stock left and at the same time you will be contributing something indirectly to the society by reducing your profit share. No sensible person will buy extra milk packet for few additional drops added in the packet that not even enough for coffee or tea.

20 ml extra milk, 40 ml extra water. If people start seeing the red color puss mixed milk extracted from the udder of the cows, nobody will drink milk stolen from someones mother. The milk that comes looking Bright white color is just a farce after processing.

Kaup Diwakar Shetty is doing tremendous job as Director of Nandini. Let us all use more of milk products and get advantage of it. Nutritious substance available in milk as such in India we regard Cow as Gomatha. Even Cow Urine is having much medicinal benefit and Cow Dung is use for day to day various purposes.
