Thumbay Moideen, M Veerappa Moily among 69 recipients of Kannada Rajyotsava Awards

Bengaluru, Oct 30: The Karnataka government has officially announced the winners of this year’s Kannada Rajyotsava Awards, honouring 68 achievers for their contributions across various fields.

Among the distinguished recipients are Thumbay Moideen of Thumbay Group, UAE, and former chief minister M Veerappa Moily. Other notable awardees include Fr Prashanth Madtha, Dr Rita Noronha and Lokayya Shera, reflecting a diverse array of talent recognised by the state.

Minister for Kannada and Culture, Shivraj Tangadgi told reporters here this year features a total of 69 Rajyotsava Awards, encompassing both individual and organisational recipients. Additionally, in celebration of the 50th anniversary of Suvarna Karnataka, special awards will be given to 50 men and 50 women who have excelled in various domains. Notably, former minister B T Lalitha Naik and M Veerappa Moily have been recognised in the literature category. The awards will be presented to all recipients on November 1.
