Mangaluru, May 30: Reacting to the remark made by the former chief minister and leader of the opposition Siddaramaiah that the BJP lacked leadership, Nalin Kumar Kateel said that it was rather the Congress that was lacking efficient leadership.
He was speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a programme here on Sunday May 30.
Commenting on the statement made by Siddaramaiah, he said, "There is no scarcity of leadership in BJP. Yediyurappa is our leader. He has achieved the position of a state leader through hard work. Yediyurappa did not become the chief minister by changing parties or lobbying.
"Siddaramaiah should introspect and recall who was his teacher. People know that Siddaramaiah abused Congress and then managed to become the chief minister of Karnataka.
"There is a scarcity of leadership in Congress. Rahul Gandhi made Kumaraswamy the chief minister when there was a coalition government in the state. This itself is an indication that there are no able leaders in Congress. This was a decision taken by Sonia Gandhi. It is better that Siddaramaiah first analyses his party and then makes a statement," Kateel said.
"Sonia Gandhi knew that Siddaramaiah is not an efficient leader, following which Kumaraswamy was made the chief minister of Karnataka," he added.
