Daijiworld Media Network - Bantwal (SP)

Bantwal, May 14: A person from Maninalkur village in the taluk had tested positive for coronavirus infection. A complaint has been registered against him at the rural police station here, on the allegation of participating in a marriage ceremony in spite of his positive infection status and in violation of norms.

Rajesh Poojary from Bollukallu in Maninalkur village has been accused of violating government rules. He had been tested on May 10 at Daivasthala primary health centre and found to have been infected by Covid19. The health department officials had visited his house on May 11 and advised him against coming out of the house for 14 days.

But Thursday, when a team led by the gram panchayat development officer, Vasanthi, visited his house, the team learnt that Rajesh had participated in a marriage at Karkala that day. When questioned, he is said to have wondered why he needs to be in quarantine when test done in a private hospital in Mangaluru had given negative result. He is said to have arrogantly confronted the officials.

On the basis of the complaint given by the panchayat development officer to the police station, a case was registered at the rural police station here.

Lol Sunil. Don't compare shaheen bagh or Farmers protest with Kumbh mela. Kumbh happened in the middle of 2nd wave and our PM was urging people to attend it.

The character of the accused and some point of villagers looks like a combination of too little education with too much arrogance.

Lockdown is on. But, I am sure many will say here that Modi, Amit Shah and Yeddi are totally responsible for this as he turned positive because of them and his right to participate in marriage under lockdown to "break the chain" is compromised.

Whose report is genuine and correct .... primary health center or private hospital ? This is not the first time such incidence is happening in Dakshina Kannada. Earlier a similar case was reported in the media about the report of a girl student from Kinnigoli. Let the concerned officials think of calibrating all such devices.
