Udupi, Apr 10: The district has prepared for the successful implementation of the night curfew. The police department has already installed checkposts at the entry points to the city.
Checkposts have been installed at Kalsanka junction, Bannanje, Syndicate Circle in Manipal, Eshwar Nagar and Karavali bypass.
All the shops and commercial establishments have been ordered to stop their businesses by 10 pm.
Only essential services are allowed to function as per the order of the state government.
However, on the very first day of the night curfew, huge traffic was witnessed across the checkposts.
DC Jagadeesha also conducted an inspection on the first day of curfew. He even instructed commuters to not wander post 10 pm and ordered them to reach home soon. Further, he warned of seizing vehicles if orders are not followed by motorists.
