Mangaluru, Apr 1: The constituent colleges of City group of Institutions, City College of Nursing and Rukmini Shetty College of Nursing celebrated the lamp lighting and oath-taking ceremony on March 31 at the college auditorium.

A total of 152 students who belong to the 22nd batch of students from City College of Nursing, the 30th batch of students from City Institute of Nursing and the 16th batch of Kailkere Rukmini Shetty College of Nursing made their foray into the nursing profession.

Lecturer Louiza welcomed the gathering. Professor Renilda Shanthi Lobo, principal of Mangalore College of Nursing was the chief guest of the occasion.

In her brief address, she exhorted the aspirants to adhere to the 3 'H's; head, heart and hands to mean knowledge, empathy and skills.

Dr Bhasker Shetty, the president of City group nudged the students to stay committed to the profession in terms of integrity, devotion and sacrifice.

The lamp lighting was initiated by Professor Ashwin Bromeo J, principal and the oath was administered by Rushal D’Souza, principal of Rukmini Shetty College of Nursing. Madhushree delivered the vote of thanks. All the administrative, teaching and non-teaching staff were present on the occasion.
