Texas, Apr 23: In a deeply disturbing incident in Fort Worth, Texas, a 23-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly murdering his mother during what he claimed was an “exorcism” ritual. According to a police affidavit obtained by USA TODAY, the suspect, identified as Alexander Taylor Valdez, was taken into custody on April 18 after officers responded to a distress call around 1:30 a.m.

When authorities arrived at the scene, Valdez opened the door with a Bible in hand and was reportedly covered in blood. He calmly told police, “It was an exorcism,” before sitting down on the front porch. Asked to explain the blood on his body, Valdez allegedly admitted, “I was doing witchcraft to kill my mom. There is a dead body in there. It’s my mom.”

Officers entered the home to discover the body of 58-year-old Teresita Sayson in the master bedroom, along with a deceased dog. Police say Sayson showed clear signs of severe trauma to the face and upper body, with blood found across the room, including on the walls and carpet. A broken jewelry box stained with blood and containing human hair was also recovered at the scene.

The gruesome details further reveal that Valdez allegedly sent a photo of his mother and the dog’s bodies to friends via a Snapchat group chat. One of the recipients promptly called 911 and directed officers to the residence, enabling police to quickly respond and apprehend the suspect.

Valdez is currently being held on a $750,000 bond and faces a charge of murder. No attorney was listed for him in public records at the time of the report.

The Fort Worth community remains shocked by the horrific nature of the crime, which authorities describe as one of the most unsettling cases they've encountered in recent times.
