Beltangady, Mar 20: Once again, the readers of Daijiworld have come to the rescue of the needy. This time, Martin's family, who met with an accident and required financial assistance for medical treatment. Now, our kind-hearted readers spread across the world, have given them a ray of hope, with a contribution of over Rs 7.63 lac in response to an appeal on Daijiworld.
After knowing the poor financial condition of Martin's family, we had published an appeal requesting help. Cicilia Martis, Lavita Martis and Sushma Martis, were the survivors of the horrific accident that took place at Kadaba last month that claimed the lives of two of the family who were returning from a visit to Attur pilgrim centre.
Naveen Martis
It may be recalled, five people from the family who were returning from Karkala in their car collided with a Mahindra Bolero at Kadaba a few meters away from their house on January 24. Following the accident, Nicholas Martis, the head of the family, his son Naveen Martis, who was driving the vehicle, passed away in the mishap. Meanwhile, three members of the family survived and are currently recuperating at their brother Roshan Martin's house who is an auto driver by profession.
“The support of Daijiworld readers has given us a new ray of hope. On behalf of the survivors, I convey my heartfelt gratitude to readers around the world who have contributed huge amounts. After reading the appeal, many called us privately and tried to instil confidence in the survivors,” says Roshan Martis.
We at Daijiworld, once again extend our gratitude to our readers who have supported a good cause, financially and through prayers, besides lending moral support to the bereaved family. We thank our generous readers who have time and again supported the needy and given a new lease of life to so many.
