Bangalore, Jun 28: In a sudden development, former state BJP president and Udupi-Chikmagalur MP, D V Sadanand Gowda, has resigned from his post as the director of Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF).
It is learnt that this step was undertaken by Gowda in protest against Chief Minister’s disinclination to give him any politically significant assignment after his term as the state BJP president came to an end recently. Reportedly, he held consultations with the BJP legislators from Udupi and Chikmagalur districts before deciding to put in his papers.
At the time Gowda quit as the state BJP president, an understanding was reached that he would be given the post of the president of KMF, and that Bellary MLA, G Somashekhara Reddy, would temporarily function in that post. In preparation thereof, Gowda was nominated as a director of KMF by the state government. However, Reddy continues to claim that he was chosen to the post for a full term.
