Udupi: Death of Medical Student Raises Eyebrows

Udupi, Mar 15: The death of a medical college student in the wee hours on Friday after falling from a multi-storied residential complex has given rise to speculations.

The girl, Vandana from Hyderabad, a student of Kasturba Medical College, and several of her male and female friends had taken part in a party organized in the room of a friend in an apartment complex located by the roadside on End Point road, till about 12.45 am on Friday. While the others had left, Vandana, whose room was nearby, continued to remain there. At around 3 am on Friday, one of her friends reportedly got a message on his mobile from Vandana, saying that she loves her parents and brother very much.

Perturbed, the student rushed to the apartment to enquire what had happened, but was shocked to find that Vandana had breathed her last after falling down near the apartment. Her close relatives came from Hyderabad and took the body on Saturday. A case of suicide has been registered in Manipal police station in this connection.

    The story is incomplete and lot needs to be heard in this regard. Very disturbing news and young live is lost. Parental guidance and more parental responsibility is required. Lot of pressure from parents, peer group, association, competition and friends circle really bring stress to the young minds. May the soul rest in peace. Hope Daiji would come back with more revealations as it unfolds.
