Mangaluru, Jan 10: A young man, who was receiving treatment after being injured in a road accident, passed away on Friday, January 10 morning.

The deceased, Chetan Kumar (24), a painting worker from Baliyuru Parandarguri, was the son of the late Padmanabha Poojary.

On December 31, Chetan participated in a New Year celebration in Mangaluru and was returning home on his bike when he collided head-on with another bike. He suffered severe injuries to his head and face and was admitted to a hospital in Mangaluru for treatment.

Despite financial struggles, Chetan's family, with support from the Chigurupade Yuvadhara Friends Club, raised around Rs 75,000 from local donors to continue his treatment. Unfortunately, despite ongoing care, Chetan passed away at 1 am on Friday.

Chetan worked as a painting labourer in his village and was an active member of both the DYFI (Democratic Youth Federation of India) and the Yuvadhara Friends Club. Both organisations have expressed their condolences following his untimely death.
