Mangaluru, Aug 7: The Inner Wheel Club of Mangalore north had its online installation ceremony of office bearers for 2020-21 on July 25 with the outgoing president Asha Nayak handing over charge to the new president Nirmala Pai and her team who were installed by Dr Malini Hebbar and Shameem Kunil. Divya D’Souza, an NLP therapist, parenting coach and transformation specialist was the chief guest and RI district 3181 governor Ranganath Bhat was the guest of honour.
The Board of Office Bearers is: Nirmala Pai (president), Asha Nayak (immediate past president), Savitha Shetty (vice-president), Meera Krishna (secretary), Chandrika Bhat (treasurer), Geetha Rai (ISO), Jennifer Pais (editor), Pooja Jalan (joint secretary), Ramamani Bhat (HOPE coordinator), Chitra Rao (CCCC).
The well-attended virtual meet had past president Jayashri Basri rendering the Inner Wheel prayer. Geetha Rai read out the messages and the outgoing secretary Vasanthi Kamath presented the report of activities of 2019-2020. Rajani Bhat introduced the newly installed president Nirmala Pai. Ramamani Bhat and Pooja Jalan introduced the guest of honour and the chief guest. The birthday greetings were conveyed by Sheela Jayaprakash and vote of thanks was proposed by the vice-president Savitha Shetty. Shobhana and Kavitha Kamath compered the programme.
Good wishes poured in notable ones sent by IW District 318 chairman Varija Jagdish, philanthropist Mohini Pai from Bengaluru, Harish Bhat, brand custodian of Tatas, Annappa Pai of ACE Foods, Ajith Pai, COO of Delhivery, Arvind Pai, director of Consulting Practices Oracle, Mitra Prabhu and Rajalaxmi Shetty.
Inner Wheel is an international service organization that has undertaken numerous impressive projects such as distribution of three-ton of potatoes to old age homes, orphanages, destitute homes in Mangaluru/Surathkal and 100 needy families during the lockdown, donation of a sewing machine to Inchara Foundation towards empowerment of girls, donation to a cancer patient, distribution of essential food items to 50 transgenders and virtual celebration of vanamahotsav. These projects have been sponsored by Annappa Pai and family, Sushma Bansal and members of the IW Club of Mangalore north.
The club will continue to serve society answering the call given by the IW Association president Vasudha Chandrachud, focusing on HOPE, an acronym for Health/Hygiene, Old people/Orphans, Patriotism and Environment.
