Mangaluru, Jul 24: To throw some light on the opportunities for engineers in the Civil Services sector, St Joseph Engineering College (SJEC), here, on Friday July 31 from 10.00 am to 12.00 noon will host a webinar titled 'Turning Engineers into Civil Servants'. The webinar will be delivered by T P Sreenivasan, former ambassador of India, retd IFS officer, permanent representative of India to UN and governor for India of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Vienna.
The number of engineers aspiring to join the Civil Services has multiplied in the last ten years or so. This is partly because of limited avenues for employment as engineers and raising of the age limit for Civil Service examination to 32. Civil Services are important because they deal with our daily life in terms of governance, public goods and services, economic policy improvements, management of public expenditure and revenue, fiscal sustainability and institutional development.
As there is always an ever-increasing need for good civil servants in the country, this awareness webinar is being conducted jointly by the department of Civil Engineering and the department of Training and Placements of SJEC.
This free webinar is open to all and anyone interested can get themselves registered for the same through the link given below.
