Udupi, Jul 14: Abhijna Rao has emerged as the topper in the state in science. Also, two more students Grishma and Padmika secured 4th and 5th state ranks resoectively in Science from Vidyodaya PU College.
She secured 596 marks in the PUC final examination results announced on Tuesday July 14. She has secured 96 marks in English and 100 marks in PCMC subjects.
Abhijna had secured second position in the state in the SSLC final examinations two years ago.

She is daughter of Asha Rao and Vittal Rao, a retired professor. Her sister Raksha Rao has completed Engineering from NITK Suratkal.
Speaking to Daijiworld, she said, “I had secured second rank in the state in my SSLC examinations, so I had a target to score more in my PUC examinations. My parents and lecturers have supported me in my studies. I am happy today. I have worked hard for this. All my teachers have taught me very well. They gave me proper guidance. Vidyodaya College has always supported me. Preparing for the exams, I was studying on a daily basis. The exams were easy and I had expected to score above 590. I am very happy to score 596."
Mother Asha Rao, “She worked really hard for her examination. I was expecting her to secure third rank, but she topped the state. I am so happy and proud of my daughter. She took it as a challenge in SSLC to bag a state rank and she has achieved it today. She prefers engineering specializing in Computer Science and is preparing for her CET and JEE exams.”

The other two toppers, Grishma scored 593 marks and 4th rank in state with 98 in English, 95 in Hindi and 100 in PCMB, and Padmika scored 592 marks and 5th rank in state with 97 in English, 98 in Hindi, 99 in Physics, 98 in Chemistry and 100 each in Mathematics and Biology.
DDPU Bhagavantha Kattimani sharing his opinion on PU results in the district said, “Udupi stands first in the state as usual. I am very happy to hear the result. I would like to congratulate all students and teachers, who have put sincere effort amidst coronavirus pandemic. The district administration had taken all necessary measures on time. All teachers, college principals, the education department, parents and students supported as well. As Udupi is an educational hub, students are aware about the growing coronavirus issue. They took care of themselves. All three types of institutions in Udupi - aided, non-aided and government colleges, have worked hard.”
