Kaup, Jul 9: Beach development work at Padubidri End Point where Kamini rivulet pours into the Arabian Sea has been going on in full swing. The beach is set for inspection and assessment by a central team of judges by July 15.
Thereafter, an international board of judges will check the beach and issue a Blue Flag Beach certificate for the beach. The central government had approved to convert Karwar and Padubidri beaches into Blue Flag Beaches. A to Z company from Gugugram has been executing this central government project costing eight crore rupees.

Works on the beach had commenced a year ago. The state government has provided infrastructure projects worth Rs 2.5 crore. Temporary bathroom, bathroom, changing room, water purification unit, CCTV cameras and control room, toys for children, first aid room, solid waste processing unit and solar panels have been provided to produce power needed for beach maintenance. Street lights have also been provided. Footpaths, interlock for parking spot, providing of green grass cover and erection of information boards are in progress. Work of providing water connection and bamboo seats are pending.
