Kasargod: Miyapadavu school teacher murder - HC grants conditional bail

Kasargod, Jun 22: The high court has granted conditional bail to two persons accused of murdering Roopashree, teacher of Miyapadavu higher secondary school. The teacher was allegedly murdered on January 14 this year. 
 
The teacher had been allegedly killed at the end of a verbal altercation relating to financial dispute, by banging her forehead against the wall and then immersing her body in a drum full of water. Her mortal remains had been found on the beach on January 16.
 
The accused, Venkataramana Karanth (43) residing at Miyapadavu in Meenja village, and Niranjan Kumar K (23) residing in a rented room at Miyapadavu, have succeeded in getting conditional bail.
 
The high court has prescribed that both of them should provide personal bonds from two persons in the additional surety of Rs 1 lac each.
