Daijiworld Media Network - Dharwad (SP)

Dharwad, Jun 20: When a team of corona warriors came to escort a coronavirus positive person from a hamlet for treatment, they were attacked with stones and sticks by the locals. The windshields of an ambulance were shattered in the incident. Two policemen and an employee of the health department were injured.

A 17-year-old girl from Kolkkunda Dodda Tanda in a Sedam taluk of the district had tested positive for coronavirus on Thursday. The corona warriors team went to Tanda on Thursday night to pick up the patient. On that occasion, the villagers engaged in verbal friction with the police. Reportedly, this resulted in the police roughing up a villager, after which the villagers were enraged and began to throw stones at the corona warriors.
