Bengaluru: Drug peddling - Six including five students arrested

Bengaluru, Jun 13: The central crime branch (CCB) police here have arrested six persons including five Kerala-based students on the charge of drug trafficking. They have seized drugs worth Rs 8 lac from the possession of the arrested persons.

The arrested youngsters happen to be N P Tasleem (28), Mohammad Amir (23), Manu Thomas (25), Haseeb (25), Rajik Ali (25) and C J Joman (24). They are residents of BTM Layout second stage in the city. Over two kg ganja, 20 grams MDMA, 50 ecstasy tablets, 20 LSD strips and five cell phones were seized from their possession.

One of the arrested persons, Mohammad Amir, reportedly had got admission into radiation therapy course in a college in the city but dropped out halfway through the course. The others too had joined different degree courses but have cut short their education.

The arrests were made recently from behind Maruti Dental College at Vinayaka Layout, Hulimavu. The raid was conducted on the basis of a tip-off.
