Udupi: Decision of opening Mosques after government guidelines – Muslim Okkoota

Udupi, Jun 6: Udupi district Muslim Okkoota held a coordination meeting at Nejaru Jamia Mosque over reopening the mosques.

Okkoota district president Yasin Malpe said that the Okkoota has distributed 5700 food kits. “Similarly Humanitarian Relief society, Popular front of India, Sunni Student Federation, Tabligi Jamat, Dava Center, Udupi Jamia Masjid, Sheesh team and all the local mosques have distributed meals and food to people belonging to all the religions during lock down,” he said.

Yasin Malpe tabled the opinions for and against opening the mosques on June 8. Other mosques in charge expressed their opinions. “The mosques will not be opened on June 8. The decision of reopening will be taken after receiving guidelines from the government after two or three days,” he said.

Samyukta Jamat secretary Abdurrehman Kalkatta welcomed. Okkoota treasurer Iqbal S Katpady rendered vote of thanks. Chief secretary Mohammed Moula compered the programme.
