Raipur, May 29: Chhattisgarh former and first chief minister Ajit Jogi passed away on Friday afternoon, May 29. He suffered two cardiac arrests in a private hospital where he was admitted in the state capital.
Jogi was admitted to the hospital on May 9 after he had an episode of cardiac arrest at his home. He was critical and undergoing treatment. He was kept under a ventilator. On Wednesday night he had another attack.
Jogi served as the chief minister of Chhattisgarh for three years after the state came into existence in 2000 and served in the then Congress government. He was a bureaucrat turned politician.
However, in 2016 he had parted ways with the Congress and formed Janata Congress Chhattisgarh (J) after his son got embroiled in a controversy over a by-election.
