While the number of corona suspects is increasing, the number of pending tests is also going up with each day. At the same time, efforts to handle this problem are being made. Two government-run laboratories are being set up at Shivamogga and therefore, these labs would be able to increase the number of tests being conducted there. Manipal hospital will get automatic machinery in two to three days, after the installation of which this hospital would be able to conduct 500 to 600 tests per day. The laboratory sanctioned to the district hospital here is likely to be installed in three weeks, the DHO clarified.
