Sirsi: Son dies, father critical after drinking herbal medicine to prevent coronavirus

Sirsi, May 24: People are trying their best to safeguard themselves from the deadly coronavirus pandemic. In such an act, a father-son duo drank herbal medicine (Kasaraka Chakke) which turned poisonous. While the son died, father is fighting for his life.

This incident took place in Ramanabail of Sirsi. Both father and son were having some breathing issues and cough since some days. The father listened to someone's advice that they should drink herbal medicine in order to get rid of the cough and breathing problem which is suspected to be symptoms of coronavirus.

Francis Rego (42) is the deceased person. His father Neklam Anthony (70) is in a critical condition. They brought some root from a tree in order to prepare the herbal drink.

A case in this regard is registered at Sirsi police station.

    Even Ayurvedic has so many steriods and poisonous metals, like mercury, cadmium, lead, etc. I know someone who got big huge blisters filled with pus and his skin turned dark grey after taking ayurvedic medicine...he died within 3 months of taking that medicine...the allopathic doctor wanted to put case, but family decided against it, because company is powerful

    If that medicine had poisonous metals, then it is NOT Ayurveda..simple.

    Lot of quacks claimi themselves Ayurveda, they may not be authentic. you wont get such medicine in reputed Ayurvedic medical shop..
    Dont blame ayuerveda as a whole with just one example of a quack... even people die of reaction of Alopathy even in US in 1000s every year. Does that mean we blame Alopathy as a whole?

    John mangalore,this ginger pepper doesnt help for all types of coughs.Only in case of some cold ,fever during influenza.One shouldnt take medicine self diagnosing without knowing any knowledge of medicine or disease.Sad now father is struggling in bed.will be bitter for him to know son is no more.Arrest the person who sold the roots .May his soul rest in peace.Hope father will survive.

    This is not immunity development but death development. The doctors don't develop medicine and people preaching medicine reference to some pages of books authentication is also doubtful.The people who suggest medicine with out approval from the concern authority should be put behind bars.whoever advertising medicine should be checked by the drugs department and if they are not authorised to be booked

    So many medicines from doctors without degree in Ayurveda and allopathy moving in what's app.... Who will control them?? Some follow that to build immunity... I too tried as well as my two neighbors... After few hours started stomach pain... I was thinking as to what has happened with my health.. I never guessed kashaya made me so... Next day even my neighbors were complaining of stomach pain .... See, how we become foolish...

    Everybody cannot able to identify that tree. People who are expert in it can only take-out Kethe from the tree that also in early morning hours. Please dont make experiment oneself at home...if anybody advise. What happened is not good. Death and Birth still is in the hands of God. People cannot avoid it. It's his wish after all.
