Mangaluru, May 23: Two people tested positive for coronavirus in Dakshina Kannada (DK) on Saturday May 23.

The two have been identified as a 30-year-old man and 41-year-old woman.

The man had returned from Maharashtra and was under quarantine. He underwent test at a private lab and was tested positive.

The woman is a resident of Shirlalu in Beltangady and had symptoms of influenza-like illness. She was urged by residents in the surroundings of her house to go for a test. She was shifted to Wenlock COVID hospital in the morning on Saturday. The district administration might seal down Shirlalu area.

The district administration in a press release said that the case in which a moodbidri man committed suicide who was under quarantine and later tested as coronavirus-positive will be not be considered as a coronavirus death. Hence, the death toll in DK will remain five.

With the two testing positive, the count in Dakshina Kannada has risen to 65 positive, out of which 33 are currently active. As many as 26 persons have recovered and been discharged, and five deaths have occurred so far.

All these days the intelligent people's district is blaming bordering Kasargod in Kerala. Now the success of Kerala is not behind 'Taiwan' which acted in time and implemented many new policies and rules to control without affecting the common man.

Now the numbers in Kerala are less than that of Mangalore despite many Keralites died all over the world. Still the Keralites are welcomed back to the state were ever they are residing on jobs.

This shows leadership quality. Whereas Undivided Canara all the BJP's elected BJP leaders focused their attention to communalize the pandemic rather than reaching effective stratergy.

So whatever may be the case, now government need to focus on damage control...
They usually impose lockdown on clusters or isolate suspects, seal down areas and then carry on with normal business...
    Is there any alternative?
