Bengaluru, May 23: Minister for primary and secondary education, S Suresh Kumar, said that the date of reopening pre-primary and primary classes will be decided during the next week. He was speaking during a programme aired by Bengaluru Akashvani.

"There is pressure from the parents not to reopen schools when lockdown is in force. Therefore, we will hold discussions from all angles and take a suitable decision. Once the central government comes out with its guidelines, we will take a final decision about reopening of schools," he explained.

He said that the SSLC examinations which will begin on June 25, will not be held in containment zones. "If the area where the examination centre is located is declared as containment zone at around the date of the examination, the students of those zones will be allowed to appear in supplementary examinations," he added.

Kumar revealed that when reopening the schools, the ministry of human resources development of the central government guidelines will have to be adhered. Therefore, in normal course, students in supplementary examinations are treated as repeat students. But students who could not appear because of their area falling under containment zones, will be treated as freshers and given a chance in the supplementary examinations," he stated.

The minister insisted that holding of SSLC examination has become necessary in the interests of the students of the state and not to serve someone's prestige. "SSLC examinations are a major turning point in the academic life of students. Performance in that examination is an important yardstick. Therefore, we have no other go but to hold the examination. Even most of the students from the state want the examinations to be held," he added.

    Sir

While deciding on the reopening of schools please make a mention for the differently abled schools also as they also do not have a clear picture about reopening..Till now there has been no mention of these schools but they equally teach children like any other school does..I sincerely hope that this would be taken into consideration..

    Dear Minister,
Please tell all private schools they should stop sending fees reminders as no school .no fees policy as government please enforce as where parents whose jobs are affected by pay cuts, businesses closed will pay full monthly fees with components like activities fees, excursions fees, computer class ,karate class fees all bundled into 1 term fee or monthly fees.
Schools for decades from 1970/ 1980 had been fleecing people with donations, deposit money infrastructure funds to get admission and has 6 to 7 sections in each class, way above approved case,icse..limit per class now should not do any coercive or threatening actions on name of fees, please arrange ur own money for your teachers, support staff parents are already under pressure from.job loss etc ,after school reopens after vaccination kids will physically come then charge fees, but now with without government lockdown its killing act to either send student for schools as 100% they will die if infected as immunity is poor in kids & our great great health system will ensure they die so fees part ,all govt aided, private specifically should not think.
Government should tell this through press release

The Karnataka BJP government has once again proved themselves they are only good in 'Horse trading', 'resort politics' and 'Operation Kamala.
When state under floods has no money. When pandemic hits with 'begging bowl'. But has enough funds to buy MLA's to remain in power but doesn't even has 'Good Governance' skills.

Now clueless Karnataka BJP government is like Son want to marry but don't now whose the bride on the wedding day.

If state assembly sessions can't be regularize due to the threat, how the children's are safe in the schools?

When the history of the present times of this country is written, not only will it record the failure of the PM Modi's BJP regime in managing a crisis but will acknowledge the struggles of common people, the labourers, children and women who covered hundreds of kilometres on foot to return home in the absence of any help from the government.
