Mangaluru, May 21: To help stranded people from coastal Karnataka to return to their homes, two flights were operated to Mangaluru from Dubai. Another such flight is expected to fly into the city from Dubai on May 23, said union minister D V Sadananda Gowda, in a tweet.
He said that a flight is expected to fly to Bengaluru from Doha on May 22 and another flight to Bengaluru from Dubai on May 23. However, ministry of civil aviation sources said that no final decision has been taken about carrying passengers by these flights to Mangaluru.
As confirmed by Karnataka NRI forum president Pravin Shetty, the flight will carry passengers till Bengaluru and it will be ferry flying to Mangaluru. If there are any Mangaluru-bound passengers, they will undergo coronavirus test and if tested negative, will be sent to Mangaluru on mandatory quarantine for 14 days.
