Corona-positive cases in Udupi rise to five as 17-year-old tests positive

Udupi, May 19: Another girl tested positive for coronavirus in addition to four patients who tested positive on Tuesday, May 19, there by taking the count of cases to five.

The patient is a 17-year-old girl from Chitradurga. She has visited KMC hospital for cancer treatment on May 16. She was diagnosed as COVID positive on Tuesday.

She is also now admitted to Dr TMA Pai Covid hospital.

With the new case, 16 confirmed cases of coronavirus have been reported so far in the district, including a death. Three have recovered, and 12 are active.

Mangaluru, May 19: Four people who had returned from Mumbai tested positive for coronavirus on Tuesday, May 19.

The patients have been identified as three male aged 8, 24 and 38. Another female aged 24 also tested positive.

All the four have been admitted to Dr TMA Pai Covid hospital.

With this, 15 confirmed cases of coronavirus have been reported so far in the district, including a 54-year-old person who died of heart attack on May 16. Three have recovered, and 11 are active.

    Lockdown does not practically work, but only on paper; in overpopulated countries like India where 78% of people are middle class to extremely poor & with lack of basic medical facilities, ignorance, myths, dogmas, devious religious beliefs, starvation, discrimination, migrants, lack of hygiene etc!

    Where was the protocol applicable to lacs of migrants who were herded like sheep; and then walked 1000s of kms with only one pair of clothes?
    Protocol has to be followed rigorously, but due to our abysmal conditions ........

    Only our immunity & herd immunity can help us ride the virus!

    In April, Udupi District administration was convinced Udupi will get Corona-Free tag. They were in denial that India has reached community Transmission phase!

    Treatment charges need to be collected like other countries doing.. That's why the carelessness happened.. No one come outside without emergency reason..

    My Dear Friends, Please understand one thing that this Virus is here to stay for some time. we cannot keep stopping people from different places from coming to their home. Till how long we can do this when we do not know when this corona mess will end. Only thing we can and we should do is taking enough precautions like quarantine for 14 days, maintain safe distance, proper Sanitizing and using proper face mask and gloves. we need to learn to live with this virus for some more time so do not be scared and prepare yourself and your loved ones for fighting this Virus.

    Yes, due to initial lock down, govt got much needed time to set up a system to deal with pandamic. Its going to infect almost all, but it should not happen at once, the more time it takes, people can be saved.
