Mangaluru, May 18: The youth diagnosed with coronavirus infection, identified as P-1094, who belongs to Jeppu Patna in the outskirts of the city, had reached here ten days ago. He had in fact begun his journey by foot from New Delhi. He had travelled by various vehicles on the way and finally reached home by hoodwinking the staff at several check posts.
His parents had refused to allow him to enter the house. He was sent away, duly asking him to get COVID test done before returning home. The youth, who was staying alone at his grandparents’ home near his parental home since the last ten days, finally got himself tested in a private hospital at Deralakatte under pressure from family. The report received yesterday confirmed that he is coronavirus-positive.
The youth was in Dubai. Before the lockdown was clamped, he had returned to Delhi and stayed in his own flat.
The infected person had already moved around various places including Bantwal during the ten of his stay alone. He had travelled by different auto-rickshaws and visited a few relatives, it is said. This has given rise to an air of apprehension all over the district and the officials are at a loss how to draw up his travel history.
Sources said that the man's marriage was fixed and for that purpose he had tried hard to reach here.
