Mangaluru, May 14: Dakshina Kannada on Thursday, May 14, recorded its fifth death due to novel coronavirus.
The victim, a woman, identified by number P-507, was an 80-year-old resident of Kulshekar. She was shifted to ventilator and was said to be in serious condition from the past few days.
It may be recalled, the 80-year-old woman and her 45-year old son, who were admitted as inpatients at First Neuro hospital at Padil in the city had tested positive for coronavirus on April 27.

Out of 34 positive cases in Dakshina Kannada, and 14 are currently active. As many as 15 persons have recovered and been discharged, and five deaths have occurred so far.
