Mangaluru: Tempo rams into tipper on Pumpwell flyover, driver injured

Mangaluru, May 14: In an accident which happened on Pumpwell flyover in the city at around 7.15 am on Thursday May 14, the driver of a tempo suffered serious injuries and was hospitalized.

The tempo bearing registration No. KL 14 V 3651 was moving towards Kerala from the direction of Nanthoor with a load of vegetables. When the vehicle was moving from near Indian Hospital, a motorbike overtook the tempo. The tempo driver's attention seemed to have been distracted at this time, as a result of which he lost control over the vehicle and rammed into a tipper that was moving ahead.

Driver of the tempo suffered considerable injuries. He was taken to a nearby hospital in an ambulance and admitted there.

Traffic police reached the spot thereafter and undertook investigation.

    Pumpwell flyover remains all ways danger, there are no safty measurement has been followed. Only they give attention to complete the bridge!!!

    What I feel that already we saw many accidents in Pumwell flyover . The construction is not good. Before further damages, it is better to demolish and construct a international type Flyover for the Mangalore smart city.

    Do not blame the roads good words driver gets distracted by bike overtaking the vehicle first whether the driver was drunk which our police do not check even if it is morning lot of commercial drivers are liquor addicted, overloading of the vehicle which nobody bothers and lastly the condition of the vehicle

    Yes obviously!! Remember one thing it's not Congress or Bjp who sit and build it they pass the order and money. Quality of work should be questioned to both ruling party and builder. This accident is caused due to some reckless driving why do we try putting politicians in this matter
