Mangaluru, May 13: In a sad news, Dakshina Kannada on Wednesday, May 13, recorded its fourth death due to novel coronavirus.
The victim, a woman, identified by number P-536, was a 58-year-old resident of Boloor. She passed away at 12.45 pm without responding to treatment.
She was admitted to Wenlock hospital on April 28 and was tested positive for coronavirus on April 30. The patient was said to be serious from the last few days and was shifted to ICU and was kept in a ventilator.
It is said that this woman had been treated at First Neuro Hospital in the city a few days ago for brain-related ailment.
During the period she was in that hospital, she had come in contact with patient No 501 who works as a sweeper.
With this, the district has 16 active coronavirus cases. The total number of COVID-19 cases found in Dakshina Kannada district are 33 now. Four among them have died and 14 have been discharged.
