Mangaluru, May 12: Under the Vande Bharat Mission of carrying Indian expatriates back home, a flight with 177 persons from Karnataka is expected to arrive at the international airport here from Dubai at 10 pm on Tuesday, May 12. An empty aircraft would be leaving today afternoon for Dubai from here to bring them home.
On arrival, the passengers of the aircraft will be put through health check at the airport after which they would be sent to quarantine as fixed by the district administration. Teams of officials have been assigned with the work of health check, distribution of passes, choice of hotels for quarantine and other arrangements.

Till Monday evening, the district administration was unclear about the number of male and female passengers and details of native districts of the passengers reaching on Tuesday. They expect to get the details once all the passengers board the aircraft at Dubai airport.
The passengers on arrival would be segregated into two groups, A and B. People suffering from cough, fever and cold would be listed under group A and will be put through 14 days’ quarantine at district Wenlock Hospital. Those not displaying any symptoms of the disease would be quarantined in the hotels or hostels fixed by the district administration.
Rooms booked in hotels and hostels fall under different room rent ranging from Rs 1,000 to Rs 4,500 per day. Some say that under the current condition, paying high room rent is not practicable for the passengers.
