Mangaluru, Apr 30: Dakshina Kannada district has been moved yet again to Red zone from Orange zone in a district-wise COVID-19 map released by the department of Health and Family Welfare. The state health department has revised the Red, Orange and Green zones with new eligibility criteria. As many as 15 districts have been declared as red zones.
Dakshina Kannada district, which was in orange zone earlier, is shifted back again to red zone due to the increasing number of positive cases of the pandemic.
These zones are created based on the number of infections. Districts which have reported infection in the past 14 days are classified as red zones. Districts which did not report any positive cases of infection in the past 14 days but had infections in the past 15 to 28 days are classified as orange zones. Only those districts which did not report a single positive case in the past 28 days are placed under green zone.
In the list that is released on Wednesday, 15 districts are under red zone, three in orange and 12 in green.
Udupi district is under green zone. Only official confirmation is awaited.
