Mangaluru, Apr 30: Another case of coronavirus positive has been detected from the city. It is confirmed that a 58-year-old woman from Boloor here has contracted this disease.
It is said that this woman had also been treated at First Neuro Hospital in the city a few days back. During the period she was in that hospital, she had come in contact with patient No. 501, it is stated.
A few days back, she had suffered from fever. Her throat swab was sent for testing. As she has been found to be suffering from COVID 19, she has been shifted to Wenlock Hospital where she is being treated. Those who came in contact with her have been quarantined.
In view of the fact that coronavirus infection was confirmed in Boloor area, the police, as a precautionary measure, set up barricades at various points since Wednesday evening and restricted movement of people.
The district was heaving a sigh of relief as no new coronavirus cases were reported since the last two days. But the emergence of a new case unexpectedly has given rise to apprehension among the people as well as officials involved with corona control work.
So far the coronavirus positive cases in Dakshina Kannada district have increased to 22. Out of this 12 people have got discharged, two have died and eight people are under treatment.
