Kundapur, Apr 13: “Preparations for delivering essential items in Kundapur police sub division limits are in progress,” said Kundapur ASP Hariram Shankar on Monday, April 13. He was speaking in a news conference called in his office.

“No place in the police limits will be sealed down. There is partial seal down on the district border as per directions from the state government. No Covid-19 infected persons are found in Udupi district so far. The suspected victims are recovering and there is no fear in the district. But lockdown is continued to prevent lapses if there are people who have come from other districts. But there are no proposals of seal down,” he said.

“There are complaints that purchase of essential items is difficult is some places. Senior citizens are unable to come for buying items at other places. Similar problems are faced by especially abled people. Therefore, a pilot project for the benefit of those who are facing hardships in villages is planned. Two volunteers are assigned for door delivery of goods at every wards. Vehicle facility will be provided with the help of donors. Some donors have come forward for the purpose,” he said.

Village people in Kundapur were anxious after false news and reports of seal down on Sunday. The matter was also brought to the notice of MLA Halady Srinivas Shetty. Thereafter ASP Hariram Shanker called a press conference and clarified that there is no seal down in Kundapur.
