Bengaluru, Apr 11: In a circular taken out by T M Vijaya Bhaskar, chief secretary of the state government of Karnataka details are given about the ‘Aarogya Setu Covid-19’ app which can be used by general public to know if the person they are speaking to is a coronavirus positive patient or not. This app was released by the health and family welfare ministry of government of India.
This app monitors the movement of a person who has coronavirus infection. It alerts the user of mobile to stay away from such a person by social distancing and save him or herself from the possibility of an infection.
This is a tracker mobile app that can be installed in iOS or Android smart phones. After downloading the app both blue tooth and location options of the mobile phone should be on. In that the option of set location should be kept in 'Always' option.
If a person carries this tracker app on his or her mobile then it will alert the user about any coronavirus positive person who is in the vicinity of the user by sending alert message. So the user can keep social distance and save him or herself from the possibility of infection.
The circular says that the ‘Aarogya Setu Covid-19’ app should be compulsorily installed on their mobile phones by public, government servants and volunteers.
