Mangaluru, Apr 11: The 10-month-old baby of Sajipanadu village of in Bantwal taluk which was infected with the dreaded coronavirus has been cured and was discharged on Saturday, April 11.
The baby’s mother and grandmother’s reports are also negative and have been discharged at the same time.
In Dakshina Kannada, so far out of 12 positive cases, six have recovered and are discharged now.
It is a relief for the people of Dakshina Kannada as there are no fresh cases in the last one week.

The 10-month-old baby being tested positive was a unique case in the entire state, which was a challenge for doctors. It was challenging task for the doctors to treat the baby in isolation.
In addition, coronavirus did not spread to any of the villagers where the baby belonged to. Once the baby was tested positive, district administration made it very clear that no one will be allowed to come inside or go out of Sajipanadu village. Locals were very supportive. The district administration made sure that groceries were delivered to every houses in the village.
