Bengaluru: Deve Gowda condemns border restrictions by Karnataka, backs Kerala

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SD)

Bengaluru, Apr 3: Former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda has extended support to the Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan and expressed his distress over the decision taken by the Karnataka government in sealing the borders.

The JD(S) national president assured the Kerala government that he would take the matter up with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Gowda in a letter to Vijayan said, "The inhuman and inappropriate action on the part of the authorities of Karnataka state to block the interstate highway between Mangaluru and Kasargod has brought me pain and anguish."

H D Deve Gowda

On March 31, Gowda had also written a letter to the Karnataka chief minister B S Yediyurappa appealing him to remove the restrictions imposed on the borders on 'humanitarian' grounds. Prior to writing to the chief minister, Gowda received letters from Kerala Water Resource Minister and JD(S) legislator K Krishnankutty from Chittur. JD(S) is a coalition associate of the present government in Kerala.

Despite the assurance bestowed by the High Court, the Karnataka government has turned a deaf ear, Gowda wrote in his letter and condemned the adamant attitude of the BJP led government in the state.

He also affirmed to take up the matter to the centre and ensured the uninterrupted supply of essential commodities to Kerala.

You r not concerned about d patients but only vote bank politics. People of South Kanara wont forget you so easily for what u have done before n now.

Uncle Devegowda, first you win and show the people of Karnataka your capabilities and then extend your support to Kerala. You come and stay in Kasaragod and reach out to the needy unto the fullest. Easy to deliver the statements from far. Inspite of so many unnecessary things were going on we never never stressed upon the government to close the border. Now also, some good Samaritan people supply food packets there. You please make some shift hospital and help them..

The presence of malayali boards in hospital irritates me. Why Can't people of Kerala vote some new govt and get some real development?

Nightingale pushes out crow's eggs from it's nest and lays it's egg in crow's nest. The present situation is like this...

Where will Karnataka patients go Devegowdaji? During flood Kerala was boasting of it's self sufficiency. During the bynational disaster every state donated to the PM's relief fund except Karala..

Kerala thinks it is superior to other states. Reality is it does not have even proper waste management programme as it depends on Karnataka and Tamil Nadu borders to dispose of its wastes including medical wastes. Now it wants to dump it's patients in Karnataka hospitals.

It is wrong to close border for ambulance from Kasargod, patients deserve to be treated in Mangalore hospitals. It is the time we mangalorians show humanity, they depend on Mangalore hospitals for treatment.
Before Corona doctors only thinking of money and now they are closing clinics and hospitals, where is humanity

You please go there and do every possible thing...dont advise. Inspite of saying so many times make shift hospitals no, you people are not ready. You dont have empty buildings? Do so, other medical help our officials/hospitals will definitely extend. If child gets corona its kept in isolation far from its own mother...in a single body, our body parts only not cooperating with each other. Our eyes, nose, moouth only cause infection internally, what logic yiu you are speaking to show up the humanity? Dont vomit same over and over again...

Patel, your govt is punishing his people...not We. Many of us have opined here to open up shift hospital..why whats the problem in doing so? Possible Medical assistances will be extended to you on request and demand. Why you are saying punishing and all...pressurize your govt to start shift hospitals which is not difficult..afterwards sanitize them...its been given to understand that yenepoya hospital already given help there...so as some of our godly people supplying food packets. Now the question is food packets are really reaching to the poor people/workets etc. Or given to the localities god alone knows...why dont you change your mindset inspite of saying so many times?? Your govt should show humanity instead of clapping hands and to make it a big issue.m
