MRPL has since clarified that the ship had come here and two personnel had entered the ship. It said that the company is strictly following guidelines provided about ships arriving from different ports, loading, health condition of the staff etc. General manager of corporate communications department of the company Rudolf V J Noronha, said that the company cannot afford to ignore coronavirus rules and being a responsible entity of the central government, there is no question of violating rules.
He said that most of the processes are performed without the human intervention like emails but for fitting diesel pipe to the pipe of the MRPL, someone has to board the ship. In such cases, all precautions like masks, goggles, gloves and safety measures are undertaken and that there is no need for the people to be apprehensive about these issues.
