Bengaluru: Afraid of coronavirus cases, many doctors close clinics

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Mar 18: Doctors of several clinics and small nursing homes are wary of treating patients for the fear that they might be infected with coronavirus. The fear is more deep-rooted after the information that a private doctor who had treated a coronavirus patient at Kalaburagi has tested positive for the infection.

On an average, 30 percent of clinics and mini nursing homes are said to have stopped operating. The closure of clinics is witnessed more in Bengaluru, Kalaburagi, Hassan, Davanagere and coastal region where the affected people are more.

The doctors find it difficult to maintain distance of three metres from the patients, concerned about the possibility of those close to the patients having been infected with coronavirus, chances of coronavirus presence getting confirmed after a few days of coming into contact with the doctors, and the knowledge that the system of getting all information about the patients and those who were in contact with them is not very efficient.

The medical stores have now stopped dispensing medicines without the doctors’ prescriptions as before, for the fear of getting caught by the surveillance teams. Some fake doctors have slunk to the oblivion while the number of patients getting admitted into the government hospitals has come down a little either because of getting
coronavirus infection there from other patients, being diagnosed with coronavirus upon admission, or because of the fear planted in their hearts on account of various rumours making the rounds on social network.

Indian Medical Association general secretary, Dr Srinivas, said that the doctors, for whom serving the patients is of paramount importance, should improve the systems and facilities at their clinics, take precautions and treat the patients properly.

Closing clinics is unethical and cowardly act. Doctors should act like soldiers at this critical time. Do or die principle.

I don`t think it`s a good move, and not in the interest of well being of the general public anyway. If the carer and protector of the sick and ill are afraid of their own personal safety and run away from their duties, what chances the sick and vulnerable have. I am sure, they can take adequate preventive measure with all the modern avenues and tools available. Surely they are doing successfully in China!

If all doctors close their clinics and hospitals, hopefully illogical and senseless people like you will die. But we still don't let that happen! You can thank us later!

    Dear public
Beating the virus is possible by avoiding contact. Most doctors are still seeing emergency case's and those with pain. All you armchair crusaders need to understand that there are many doctors in this warzome are treating patients. There are many elderly doctors who are highly suceptible to this virus who are working and who have died in this process. So just back off if you cannot support these brave men and women.
Note: To those people bad mouthing doctors...Maybe playing candy crush in the safe confines of your home would be a more worthwhile use of your time.

    Feast of St. Patrick

Once again, I (Maureen) see a Great Flame that I have come to know as the Heart of God the Father. He says: "Children, now you are in the midst of the worst of it. I speak, of course, of this pandemic. Continue to pray even though churches are closed. Persevere in prudence. Do not take any unnecessary chances. It is now, more than ever, that you be united in prayer in your hearts. This is your weapon against this disease. This is a tried and true 'vaccine'."

"If you are united in prayer, you will not live in fear as this threat passes. Whole nations need to be encouraged to do this. Prayer will undo Satan's plans that he is pursuing against the health and well-being of the world. Prayer will lead you away from dangerous situations and prudence will reign in your hearts."

"I have always looked only at what is in hearts. This pandemic offers you the opportunity to cleanse your hearts from the material world and build up a spiritual fortress in your hearts. Do not miss this opportunity of grace."

Shanker Mangalore, why doctors shouldnt close ?There are other patients too, suffer from other problems:A doctor should know how to take precautions and handle patients. He can wear gloves and mask besides overall. He should inquire first of all what problem one has ,nurse can measure fever first,or symptoms.Keep a distance to patient.Dispencerys also need not touch patients but keep a distance to provide medicines.with a glas in front of their table, receive priscription through a hole and take money same way. Here too they do same did not close. If doctors close their hospital or clinic, dispenserys very bad. They know ,hands should be disinfected and wear mask, overall too.Do they want all people should die and they want to survive? With sick peoples cost?
