Mangaluru, Mar 5: "This is the greatest budget presented by chief minister (CM) B S Yediyurappa, in which good amount of grant is given for BPL card holders, agriculturists, commoners, fishermen, women labourers, construction labourers, for health sector, tourism and development of various corporations," said Mangaluru South MLA D Vedavyasa Kamath, responding to his opinion on the state budget for the fiscal 2020-21 presented in the assembly on Thursday, March 5 by CM Yediyurappa.
"I congratulate the far sighted and great budget presented by the CM in which he has provided Matsya Vikas Yojana at a cost of Rs 1.5 crore for the upliftment of fisherwomen, two wheelers for fisherwomen at a cost of Rs five crore, development of backwater fishing, Arogya Suraksha Yojana for one lac construction labourers, free, prepaid health card scheme for construction labourers, 10 mobile clinics for construction labourers, Rs 200 crore as support grant for organic farming, grant for Karavali vented dam, Rs 8,344 crore for Navanagarothan scheme, Rs 25 crore for Vishwakarma development corporation, Rs 500 crore for tourism development.
"CM has already distributed Rs 3,000 crore for flood relief. He has also announced Peritoneal Dialysis scheme for patients with kidney malfunction, starting of mobile health clinics and 32,259 crore grant for development of Agricultural sector. I once again congratulate our CM for giving the greatest budget in the history of the state of Karnataka,” he said.
