Kaup: Illegal cow trafficking - Police confiscate cattle, pickup, three persons escape

Kaup, Feb 28: Kaup police confiscated cattle and the pickup vehicle that was used to transport the cattle, which was being taken to slaughter on the night of Thursday, February 27.

Rajashekhar B Sanagoor, ASI of Kaup police station was on patrolling duty in the evening of Thursday. He got definite information that some people have brought cattle for slaughtering near the house of Hammabba, behind Sunni Center of Muloor village.

When the ASI rushed to the spot, he saw Hammabba, Kabeer and Rizwan making preparations to get the cattle down from the vehicle. As the accused saw the police, they left the cattle as well as the pickup and escaped from the spot.

Kaup police confiscated four cows, three calves and a Mahindra pick up bearing registration number KA 31 8657, including the blue tarpaulin and three nylon ropes in the pickup.

A case under Karnataka anti-cow slaughter act of 1966 column 11 and 192 A IMV act is registered in this regard in the Kaup police station.
