Kundapur: MLC Ivan D’Souza, Jayaprakash Hegde visit family of martyred soldier Anoop Poojary

Kundapur, Dec 28: Former MP Jayaprakash Hegde and MLC Ivan D’Souza visited the family of Anoop Poojary (33), the soldier who was martyred in an army vehicle accident on December 24 near the border of Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir.

Jayaprakash Hegde expressed concern over the family’s situation and said, “The family of the deceased soldier is in dire straits. The government is working towards providing them suitable compensation. Anoop’s wife is a graduate, and we will appeal to the chief minister to secure her a government job. Efforts are underway to gather information about vacant posts in government hospitals across the district. Emergency employment on a contractual basis will be provided initially, with plans to make it permanent later.”

MLC Ivan D’Souza also assured support, saying, “The family of martyred soldier Anoop is financially backward. We will appeal to the chief minister to provide a government job to Anoop’s wife to ensure the future of their child. The government will stand with this family during these difficult times.”

Social worker Ashok Poojary Beejadi, along with leaders Malyadi Shivarama Shetty, Dinesh Hegde Molahalli, and B Herianna, were present during the visit.
