Mount Carmel athletes exhibit stellar performance in AICS Athletic meet of Dakshina Kannada

Mangaluru, Dec 26: In the AICS Dakshina Kannada Athletic Meet held on December 20 hosted by Alva’s Central School, Moodbidri at Swaraj Maidan, the athletes of Mount Carmel Central School, Mangaluru have transpired their efforts into sportive victories.

In the Under-17 Boys category, the school bagged the "Overall Championship" with Johan Gladson of grade IX winning gold in 400 mtrs and 800 mtrs and silver in 200 mtrs race.

Dishan of grade X won silver in shotput. The under-17 boys’ relay team comprising Johan Gladson, Vihaan Hegde, Harshith Shetty and Darren DSouza won bronze in 4x100 mtrs relay. Johan Gladson also clinched the trophy of "Individual Championship" in the under-17 boys’ category.

In the Under-17 girls category, Sakshi Karkada of grade X secured gold in long jump, silver in 200 mtrs and bronze in 100 mtrs race. The Under-17 girls’ relay team with Sakshi Karkada, Rachel Maria, Yashika and Vinanthi bagged silver in 4x100 mtrs relay.

In the Under-14 girls category, Jesnia Correa of grade VIII bagged silver in 400 mtrs and 600 mtrs race respectively.

The school management, principal and staff congratulated the athletes for their stellar performances and wished them well in their future events.
