Dubai, Oct 7: Mangalorean origin Tennis sensation, 11-year-old Rikeetha Pereira, a Grade 7 student of the Indian High School, Karama here has won Nike Junior Tour Masters, recently. Thus, she will be the first girl from UAE under - 12 category who will proceed to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic near United States to play 'Nike Junior World Tournament' From October 14 to 20.
The tournament was held throughout the year in batches of four and Nikitha managed to qualify for Masters under – 12 category along the way challenging players under the category under 14 and 16. In under-12 category, she has won the masters beating Sanjana from Abu Dhabi 6:1, 6:2.
Rikeetha, daughter of Rudolf and Anitha Pereira of Byndoor, Kundapur will play in the tournament wherein players from 32 countries from around the world will compete for 'Nike Junior World Tournament'. After this, she will head towards Chennai to play her CBSE Nationals. Last year in the Triangular series she had emerged runner-up beating a participant from USA.
