Bantwal, Jan 8: “Hold political discussions about development works conducted by former minister B Ramanath Rai if necessary. But the party will not tolerate personal vendetta,” warned Bantwal block Congress president Baby Kunder.
Speaking in the press conference called in Panemangaluru block Congress office on Tuesday he said that BJP district spokesperson Harikrishna Bantwal is criticizing Ramanath Rai as a person. “It is intolerable. Such people are trying to mislead gentle people like MLA Rajesh Naik. We have documents of letters written for development of roads in 2017-18. Former minister B Ramanath Rai had brought more than Rs 2,000 crore grants for development. The constituency has become poor now due to failure of MLA Rajesh Naik,” he said.
“When will the beautification of Bantwal begin? People say that If Ramanath Rai was in power, the works of Moolarapatna bridge would have picked up speed. Let Rajesh Naik come and say in Garadi that there is no contribution of Ramanath Rai in Panjikallu road development. Janardhan Poojary had won elections four times. But after Harikrishna Bantwal joined Congress, Poojary lost repeatedly. There are suspicions that Harikrishna Bantwal remaining in Congress and entering into internal agreement with BJP is the cause of Congress defeat. Harikrishna Bantwal who shows excessive love toward Janardhan Poojary is now with BJP which defeated Janardhan Poojary,” he said.
Zilla panchayat members Chandraprakash Shetty said that Harikrishna Bantwal who had developed habit of insulting others has no mentality of helping the poor. “He criticizes Rai and Congress to preserve his identity,” he said.
Zilla panchayat members M S Mohammed, Padmashekar Jain, Manjula Madhava Mave, taluk panchayat vice president B M Abbas Ali, Panemangaluru block Congress president Sudeep Kumar Shetty, Sadashiva Bangera, Mayilappa Salian, Jagadish Koila and Janardhan Chandtimar were present.
