Mumbai, Sep 19: A week-long stay for senior citizens was organized by Bombay South Kanara Brahmeens’ Association (BSKBA), at ‘Ashraya’, their old age home at Nerul, Navi Mumbai, here.
BSKBA president Dr Suresh S Rao presided over the concluding ceremony of the programme held at Ashraya Mini Hall here on Thursday September 17.
Prizes were awarded to the winners of various competitions held during their stay at Ashraya.
Dr Rao, speaking on the occasion, said that the senior citizens were forced to stay at old age homes for want of a choice since nuclear families lead hectic lives that leave little time for their children to care for them.
