Mangaluru: Christa Namana celebrated – New corporators honoured at St Antony ashram

Mangaluru, Dec 14: Christa Namana – 2019, a programme in view of the approaching Christmas festival was held at St Antony ashram, Jeppu here on December 13.

Newly elected corporators Lancelot Pinto, Jacinta Alfred, Navin D’Souza, Abdul Rauf, Vinayaraj, Bharathkumar S and Shailesh B Shetty were felicitated considering their service to the corporation and St Antony Ashram. Corporator, Jacinta Alfred speaking on behalf of the felicities commended the service of St Antony ashram of the poor and the needy. She assured the ashram of help when needed.

Dr Shivarma Heggade, Annapoornadasa; professor Abdul Noorani, Al Madina Manjanady; Dr Julian Saldanha, RMO, Wenlock hospital; Krishnaraj K, Mescom executive engineer; Gopal Bhat, traffic inspector; Shanatala Gatty, block congress ladies unit president; Manjula, police sub-inspector; Fr Cyprian Pinto, St Joseph Church, Vamanjoor; Fr Francis D’Souza, St Joseph Seminary, Jeppu; Fr Roshan D’Souza, Fr Trishan D’Souza, assistant director, sisters in the nearby vicinity and hundreds of people were present.

Ashram director, Fr Onil D’Souza in his introductory address welcomed everyone. Assistant, Fr Trishan D’Souza the vote of thanks. Shaini D’Souza compered the programme.

Vincent Fernandes of ‘Mogachi Laran’ fame and group, sang Christmas songs adding to the merriment of the programme.
