Mangaluru: 'Daskat' movie captures Tulunadu’s rural life, wins hearts of Tuluvas

Mangaluru, Dec 28: Daskat, a Tulu movie that vividly portrays the rural life of Tulunadu through a compelling narrative, has achieved remarkable success within its first week of release.

Audiences have widely appreciated Daskat for its depiction of the hardships and injustices faced by the rural folk of Tulunadu in ancient times. This experimental film has been hailed as a groundbreaking creation that has brought a refreshing change to Coastalwood.

The movie highlights the exploitation of villagers by a gram panchayat employee, animosities within the community, a blossoming love story, and the petty politics of village life. These elements are seamlessly woven into the storyline, offering a gripping portrayal of rural life.

One of the film’s standout features is its depiction of the villagers’ reaction to the corrupt administration through Janapada drama. Despite the absence of well-known actors, the cast has delivered stellar performances, turning each of them into stars. The storytelling, character selection, and acting have been praised for their authenticity and depth, with every scene evoking a unique emotional response.

Daskat is produced by 77 Studios’ Raghavendra Kudva and presented by Krishna J Palemar. The script, penned by Aneesh Poojary, who also directed the film, has garnered acclaim. The talented cast includes Deekshith K Andinje, Bhavya Poojary, Chandrahasa Ullal, Yuva Shetty, Mohan Sheni, Deepak Rai Panaje, Neeraj Kunjarpa, Mithun Raj, Timmappa Kulal, and Yogish Shetty.

Cinematography by Santhosh Acharya Gumpalaje, editing by Ganesh Neerchal, and music composed by Samarthan S Rao further enhance the movie’s appeal.
